"Wasn't something here before?"
This article is about a feature that is no longer in-game. Reason for removal: Now an elevator event instead of a floor. |
Not to be confused with the Elevator Event.
Spike was one out of 91 (and 3 hidden) floors that could be randomly chosen. It is still in-game, however is no longer a separate floor.
Appearance
The floor does not have a unique appearance in-game, with the only distinction being several grey-colored spikes dropping from the elevator lights.
Gameplay
During the event, some of the lights on the ceiling will suddenly open up, playing several concrete sliding noises in process.
Afterwards, the spikes will suddenly start dropping onto the elevator, stabbing and killing anyone under said spikes. Besides the spike event, there are also three other variants of this event, with one having its own NPC alongside it. These variants are listed below.

Trivia
- This floor was one out of four floors that can do damage to or kill NPCs, with the other floors being Hotel Floor, Frightening Floor, and Turret.
- The spikes still have a low chance to appear during intermissions but no longer count as a separate floor.
- Due to how silent it is, it's better to look up than listening closely for the spikes.
- The spikes deal 500 damage.[1]
- If a player or any NPC has the Mark's hat effect, they will be immune to this event. However, this will also result in the hardhats being removed from the player and/or NPC. (Except Mannequin Mark, who retains his hardhat.)
- Folly is unable to be given a hardhat, however she can't be killed by the spikes, presumably due to her high HP.
- When a spike hits a hardhat, the hardhat will disappear and a yellow mist comes out.
- If an NPC dies whilst interacting with another NPC, the interaction will be completely stopped and end after their death.[2]
- The sound effect for the elevator lights moving comes from this video.
- This floor is one out of two floors to be modified to be an elevator event, alongside Squish.
