Regretevator Experimental [TESTING] (simply as Regretevator Experimental) is an adventure-type experience that is a duplicated version of the main Regretevator game, though with some differences.

This game is primarily used to test out new features before it is released into the main game. As of 9th September 2024, it now has accumulated 100.1k+ visits, alongside a ratio of 641 likes to 49 dislikes.

Pre-release history and full release

Before the testing game was released to the public, there had been several testing sessions that were only available to the official Discord server members, and was not publicly open.

The game fully opened to the public on December 21st, 2023, and was announced on both the official Discord and the developer's X/Twitter account. [1]

Differences from the main game

Throughout the game, there can be seen several main differences from the main experience that only appear in this experience. These differences are listed below.

NPC behaviours

  • The DataModels are more delayed.
  • Some of the NPCs' dialogue audio are missing.
  • Doug is slower.
  • Toothette is faster, with Toothy's teeth being red-colored.

Floor behaviours

  • Many of the floors were often delayed.
  • Floors that had NPCs are rarer.
  • The Four Corners floor had a longer duration.
  • The Timer is much slower.
  • The Elevator is more faster.

Audio behaviours

  • Most of the audio files are slightly delayed.

Level Time behaviours

  • Many floors were significantly longer or slower than as intended.
  • On rare occasions, a floor would soft-lock the game entirely.

UI behavior

  • Every challenge reward icon is LankyBox's YouTube icon duplicated for all of the icons, alongside the background, which is also similar to the ticket quest.
    • If a player claimed a daily challenge reward, LankyBox's YouTube icon would cover the entire screen, disappearing afterwards.
      • The audio also disappears during the LankyBox jumpscare.
    • The daily challenge reward states that it will give one 'LankyBox's YouTube icon'.
