RAT (or Rat) is an NPC that can be found in-game and will rarely enter the elevator.

Appearance

RAT has the appearance of a typical grey or brown rat. However, the NPC has bulging, desaturated blue eyes with desaturated yellow sclerae. The NPC also has a black button nose and a sharp pink rat tail, and is also bigger than an average rat.

Description

Upon entering the Random Maze floor, several variants of this NPC will spawn scattered across the maze. They will then scurry around the maze, and will give players who touch them the Rat Poison effect which lasts for 10 seconds.

During the effect, a player's HP will decrease by 5 every second until the effect is over, but stops at 15 HP. One of the RATs also has a chance to enter the elevator. Upon it entering the elevator, touching it will give players the aforementioned effect.

• RAT will either exit the elevator on the Happy Home Party, Slide 4 Admin, Intense Obby, Cardboard Mansion, The Subway, Backrooms, Turret, Shop Space floors, or simply disappear.
• RAT's model comes from Microsoft's 3D Movie Maker and is mostly known for being featured in Jerma985's "The Rat Movie".
• RAT is one of seven NPCs that can enter the elevator that can hurt players, the others being Reddy, PartyNoob, Spud!, Gnarpy, DrRETRO, and Mannequin_Mark.
• RAT is the first NPC that can enter more than once on the same floor.
• The chance of RAT entering the elevator is 1/5000 as confirmed by yeuc_c on a Discord call.^{[citation needed]}
  • This makes it the 2nd rarest NPC that can enter the elevator behind Fafa2.
• When asked on a Discord call, yeuc_c stated that if you want to eat RAT, you must cook them first.
• After the 3/23/24 update, RAT's nose was changed to glow green, similar to the one seen when a Squishy is used.
• When asked a question on stream, yeuc_c stated that one of the RATs on the Random Maze floor listens to Folk Music, such as Larry and his Flask and The Longest Johns.
