Lobotomy is one of the 104 items that are in-game and is also one of the 54 floor-exclusive items.

Appearance

The item appears as a metal spike.

Interaction

This item can be bought on the Curse Cove floor for a single coin. When purchased, the player will receive the Lobotomized effect. The player's screen will then occasionally flash random images, punctuated by a loud buzzing noise. The image flashes for 5 seconds and fills up the entire screen. The time between each flash is randomized.

The description says that the user can get something worthwhile if they walk around with a lobotomy on 10 floors, but is not true, and is intended to mislead those who plan to use the item.

Trivia

  • Despite what the item description says, there is no mechanical benefit to the lobotomy after surviving 10 floors.
  • The appearance of the item being a spike is a reference to how real-life lobotomies were performed using pick-like instruments.[10]
  • The effect icon is the Normal difficulty face from Geometry Dash, This is most likely a reference to the Lobotomy trend in Geometry Dash where people would make levels featuring this face accompanied by a sound effect of a man yelling "Fire in the hole!".
