Regretevator Wiki

Graphical User Interfaces, commonly abbreviated as GUIs, are a set of on-screen features that players can use for a specific purpose corresponding with said menu, whether it is for managing game settings, purchasing in-game items, or as a way to keep track of ongoing progress. These can range from managing game settings, purchasing an item, or as a guide.

The list below will show the GUIs that are currently within the main Regretevator game, the main game's mobile version and/or its testing variant Regretevator Experimental, their main functions, alongside other information regarding a specific UI (e.g. other information and trivia).

Main GUIs[]

Name Image Function Other Information
Title Screen
Main menu This menu also contains an image of a new or recently updated floor, a small list of news about the most recent update, and a menu to the bottom right to purchase the VIP gamepass.

For users with access to Voice Chat, there can be seen a 'VC Only Servers' section that said users can interact with by pressing the 'Join!' button. This section will however not be visible to users without access to Voice Chat.

Daily Challenges
Rewards system Read further: Daily Challenge
The player is greeted by Zach, in which the NPC will say that it's time for the player to see what their daily challenge is. After that, they are tasked with doing a random quest.

Daily challenges are a way for players to earn coins, floor tickets or Stickers. If the player completes the challenge, there will be an option for the player to claim the reward.

The numbers in the daily challenges can vary, including:

  • Jump X times in a session while actively playing.
  • Spray X different elevator npcs in a session.
  • Get a floor streak of X.
  • Travel a distance of X studs while actively playing.
  • Survive X floors.
  • Sustain X damage in one life. (removed)
  • Purchase a tool from X different floor shops. (removed)
  • Heal X health in one life. (removed)
  • Have X effects applied at the same time.
  • Don't blink for 1000 seconds (appears while the game is loading, not part of the actual challenge pool)
  • Shoot and hit voombas X times.
  • Get knocked over X times.
  • Use Petal Cone on X different elevator npcs.
  • Sit in X chairs of floors.
  • Buy X things from floors.
    • Tickets also counts towards the challenge.
  • Before the 14/12 Christmas update, once a user finishes day 30, the user will have their entire daily reset and must start all over again.
    • This is no longer the case after the daily challenges have been reworked.
Shop
In-game purchase menu The only non-floor way to purchase items, and was formerly the only way to purchase items in-game.
Coin Purchase
Currency purchase menu Before the addition of this menu, players were only able to purchase 50 coins, or more during the weekends.
Settings
Settings menu Some settings set by the player (e.g. Show Chat setting) resets when a player leaves, even if it appears to be saved when re-joined again.

If a player sets the FOV to the highest setting, it will reward said player with the "QUAKE PRO" badge.

The Jumpscares option also appeared smaller than the rest of the options, however has now been re-scaled to now fit with the other settings.

Formerly, the Settings menu only consisted of a singular menu that stored almost all of the in-game settings.

Badges
List menu Badges that have not been achieved by the player will have be darkened, and will also have a "LOCKED" text in the middle, compared to a clear image.
Inventory High graphics

Low graphics
Inventory menu Players are limited to only holding 5 items in the item slots, but with the Double Inventory gamepass, can be increased to 10 items.

To access the Inventory tab, players either must click on the bag icon, or by pressing the tilde (~) key.

Floor Selection
In-game purchase menu This menu is the only menu where Floor Tickets can be used, in this case for selecting floors, which can also be done with Robux.
Floor Count
Counter menu Prior to this GUI's addition, the only way players can figure out how many floors said player has experienced is through the death screen.

When a player has reached a specific milestone in floors, it will reward said player with coins. For example, surviving 10 floors get 10 coins.

The color of the floor streak counter changes for every 10 floors survived.

  • 1-9 floors: White
  • 10-19 floors: Light Blue
  • 20-29 floors: Aqua
  • 30-39 floors: Green
  • 40-49 floors: Yellow
  • 50-59 floors: Orange
  • 60-69 floors: Red
  • 70-79 floors: Magenta
  • 80-89 floors: Purple
  • ≥90 floors: Dark Blue
Streak Saving
Save streak
Streak Saver Appears when a player has reached a floor streak that is a multiple of 25.
Floor Complete
Complete menu Appears when a player has completed a mission or a task in a specified floor.
Effects
Effect timer and type menu Allows the player to know when an effect will last.
Cosmetic
Cosmetic trigger menu Allows the player to select a cosmetic from a selection.
Health
Health menu Will show a close-up picture of the player's avatar, alongside the amount of health remaining on said player.

When an amount of health is subtracted from or added to the player, it will show the amount of health that is subtracted/added to the far right of the GUI screen.

If a player is damaged below 50-51, the game would begin regenerating said player's health until it reaches one out of the two numbers shown, unless if the player has the Token of Asclepius.

If a player's health is less than 1 but greater than 0, their health will be shown as a decimal.

NPC Dialogue
Dialogue menu Will show the two NPCs located to the left and right respectively, alongside a left and right tilt. This menu will only appear when there are at least two NPCs in the elevator that can interact with each other.
Credits Credits menu This GUI is found in the projector room in the basement of the lobby by opening a folder on a table titled "The Regretevator as we know it".

It shows a list of all the staff that worked on the game, seen below:

  • The developers in the third page.
  • The writers in the fourth page.
  • The contributors in the fifth page.
  • The musicians in the sixth page.
  • The voice actors in the seventh page.
  • The testers in the eighth page.
  • "More coming soon..." stated on the ninth page.
  • A barely visible image of fafa with text saying "Hello." and a non-transparent image of a man below it in the tenth page.
Payment Method
In-game purchase menu The player can choose to pay with coins or Robux when purchasing a healing squishy or knifed voomba (top image), or a floor ticket when purchasing floors in the floor selector menu (bottom image).

If the player is an admin, the payment method has an additional green option titled "EPIC ADMIN /E FREE" with 2 emojis near it, which allows an admin to purchase a floor for free.[1][2]

There are several variants of the "No" option:

  • No thanks
  • nah
  • NUH UH
  • Uhh, nevermind.
  • nvm
  • NO!!!!!!!!!
  • NO THX!
Global Announcement
Currently only used to announce updates This is a developer exclusive feature, it will appear in every server if used. They are also able to change the name and image of the person announcing it, as seen in two of the announcements sent in the 2024 April Fools' Update before it was removed.
Mobile Buttons
Interactions This GUI is only available to mobile users, and serves as a replacement to PC controls.
Command Line Quick testing by developers (and to mess around with on stream) This GUI is only accessible to admins, and contains a bunch of console commands used to cause events or create NPCS. It can be seen on some of Yeucc's streams.[3]

Other GUIs[]

Name Image Function Other Information

Guide
Serves as a in-floor guide/warning
Counter

Trivia[]

  • If the player is an admin, the in-game purchase menu for buying floors has an additional green option (which can be seen on some of yeucc's streams) called "EPIC ADMIN /E FREE" with the "Stupid Emoji" and the "Steam Happy Emoji" on its sides, which allows the admin to access a floor for free.
  • While in the inventory, if the player has their graphics set to 3 or below, the icons representing the item will no longer spin, and instead, will be in a fixed camera view.
  • The payment method menu's deny button can differ between several unique messages.
  • The Badges menu loads separately from the rest of the game, as when a player first joins the game and goes onto the menu afterwards, it will show a "LOADING BADGES" screen, whilst said player can see the badges loading in.
  • On the Credits GUI, there can be seen a barely visible image of fafa at the last page.
  • At the time the 06/15/2024 update was released, a bug occurred with most servers which caused lots of players be unable to access the shop or settings, and the keys next to the Shop/Settings texts are not present. This caused to the developers briefly fix it. However, after the fix, the bug was still present in old servers, but it slowly fell down before it was fixed completely.
  • Prior to the 6/29/2024 update, daily challenge streaks for every player have been reset.
  • During the 8/24/2024 update, there was a button in sound settings called Lanky that would show an image of Lankybox and remove all sounds permanently until rejoin[4]
