This article is about the space sometimes referred to as the 'Regretevator'. For the game known as 'Regretevator', please head over to this article.
The Elevator (also known as the Regretevator) is a space that players can enter in the lobby, and is also where the gameplay takes place in.
Appearance
The elevator appears as a small, well.. elevator, with wooden walls covering the upper half of the walls, alongside what seems to be metal covering the lower half. All of the space's walls, except for the elevator door and the small space on the door's right side have railings placed in between the lower and upper walls.
The elevator's floor has a concrete-like texture, alongside a black-colored metallic layer with the The Axolotl Sun logo placed in the middle.
On the roof, five circular-shaped lights can be seen, alongside a security camera to the top right corner of the roof. To the left of the elevator door, there can be seen a counter showing how many floors a specific server has experienced.
To the right side of the elevator door, another counter can be seen, this time showing how much time is left before the next floor is chosen.
To the right of the elevator door, there are a set of eight buttons that players can interact with, along with another set of four buttons that players can use to buy things. The four buttons can give a player the option to select a floor for a Floor Tickets or 80 Robux, a prompt to purchase 50 coins for 48 Robux, a glowing Squishy for 150 coins or 10 Robux that heals players when touched, and a knifed voomba for 200 coins, or 20 Robux that damages players when touched.
On the back wall of the elevator, there are three panels, making up an image of a sunset on the beach. However, these panels can turn at random, revealing a random image that will last for a few floors, before eventually turning back to the beach image.
Interaction(s)
The elevator serves as an intermission area for players in-between floors. However, there's a chance that an event can happen in the elevator, that being:
- All of the elevator's circular lights will turn off, and the roof will slowly lower down, 'squashing' every player that is currently in the elevator, and giving them the 'Squash' effect, before the lights turn back on.
- Some of the circular lights on the roof will move, revealing spikes that kill players instantly, confetti, or coins the players can collect.
- The elevator will crash when arriving at the next floor (e.g. Turret). This can vary within the floor.
- The panels can turn, revealing an image that is randomized per server, until eventually turning back to the original image after a few floors.
- One of the circular lights will move and flood the elevator, and then an NPC named Fish will come out of the circular light.
- One of the circular lights will flicker for a few seconds. This has been said to be in Morse code by yeuc_c during a stream.
- The circular lights will move and spikes will pop out stabbing the players caught on it and killing them instantly unless they have the "Mark's Hat" effect.
- All of the circular lights will turn off before turning on again on a few floors.
- The floor counter in the elevator will change to say something random for one intermission.
- Jaoba will appear from a dark patch and crawl across the ceiling, and then leave through another dark patch.
- An NPC named WilliamPlayz57 will fly into the elevator, and do something random to the elevator, players, or NPCs.
- A 2D NPC called Mozelle will appear in the center of the elevator, before slowly descending while spinning horizontally with beams of light appearing around her as the elevator gets decorated with two Mozelle paintings and a pink curtain above the door. After that, Mozelle then moves into a corner of the elevator, taking place as a NPC. If the elevator is full, she will flash red and disappear back into the middlemost light fixture.
- A bunch of vents beneath the elevator rails will open up and freeze the elevator floor, causing the floor to become slippery, or spit out flames quickly, damaging the player.
- A malfunctioned air filter called MR FRESH 9000 opens up from a wall panel and fills the elevator up with gas that deals 2 HP/s in damage, for a total of 14 HP before adjusting for regeneration.
- The elevator rails become hot, and will deal 5 HP/s to players when touched.
In some floors, an NPC can also enter the elevator and can interact with other NPCs in the elevator as well.
On the top right corner of the roof, a camera referred to as "ELEVATOR_CAM" can be seen, which is used to spectate over the elevator. But if a player clicks or taps on a NPC's/player's name and/or other cameras, said player can spectate said camera. Players can spectate if said players enter the elevator while a floor is in progress, or something happens that forces said players to spectate.
For every floor a player has survived in the main game, a counter will appear at the bottom of the screen, which increases by 1 and then disappears. For every 10 floors a player survives, the counter will shake, change color depending on how much floors said player survived, and a random amount of coins will be given towards said player. If said player dies or leaves the server, the counter will reset.

Trivia
- WilliamPlayz57 is the only NPC that can modify the elevator.
- If WilliamPlayz57 paints the elevator, it's guaranteed that no image will show when the panels turn.
- The panel images are from other images found in-game, with a couple exceptions.
- Frightening Floor and Happy Home Party are two out of a few floors that can interact with the elevator.
- At the beginning of some floors, the elevator will kick players out until the floor ends.
- The only exception to this is the Happy Home Party floor, which kicks players out halfway through the floor.
- If a player resets while spectating, players can see a void with a glowing brick showing an image of Q, Sal, Joe, and Murr, from the series Impractical Jokers pointing to the viewer.
- This image can also be seen if the player currently being spectated dies, and will continue being visible until a different player is selected.
- The Squish and Spike events used to be their own floors.
- The elevator has some songs that were removed from the game. Most of them were removed due to the songs being reused without permission.
- The song "Silly Elevator" was removed for that exact reason. The original song was "Small Unless False", by Deelatch.[2]
- The song "Regret Theme" was added to the game around a year ago, but was never officially released until April 28th 2024.[3]
- During the 2024 April Ghouls' Update, one of FleshCousin's idle dialogue's mentions that the elevator is 97 years old, suggesting the elevator existed since 1927. [4] Since this dialog originated from an April Fools joke update that was reverted after the event was over and is actually a reference to a pre-existing meme, it is debatable if this is canon.
- The color of the floor streak counter can change for every 10 floors survived.
- 1-9 floors: White
- 10-19 floors: Light Blue
- 20-29 floors: Aqua
- 30-39 floors: Green
- 40-49 floors: Yellow
- 50-59 floors: Orange
- 60-69 floors: Red
- 70-79 floors: Magenta
- 80-89 floors: Purple
- ≥90 floors: Dark Blue
- The elevator in the Lobby is noticeably brighter than the one during travel.
- Folly used to be a Elevator Event NPC, but then got changed into a Floor NPC.
- According to yeuc_c in a stream, the elevator is alive.[5]
- The panel image function changed in the 10/12/24 update.
- The elevator can talk in the chat when there's a big floor event.
