Broken School is one out of 102 floors that can be randomly chosen, or selected by a player. It is currently in-game.

Appearance[]

The floor takes place in a single room with a brown wooden floor and blue brick walls. When first entering the floor, there is a chalkboard with the text "You are in danger." at the top with additional text at the bottom saying, "Follow the DAs to somewhere safe.". There is a white board nearby with the text "They hurt" in green.

At the far left of the floor, TARMITE can be seen with a shaking face, additionally to the far right of the floor, The Speeding Red-Wall can be seen with a shaking face as-well. There are also drawers and broken school desks scattered across the entire floor that act as obstacles for the player(s).

Gameplay[]

When the floor begins, a timer will appear as additional HUD at the top of the screen displaying the text "SOON.". After some time, the timer will begin counting down. When this happens, the DAs will all move to a specific spot on the map. Players must follow them to avoid taking damage.

When the timer hits 0, both TARMITE and The Speeding Red-Wall will start closing in to where the DAs are piled and will both stop right before they hit them. After a few seconds, both walls will retreat back to their original positions and the DAs will start moving again. After every retreat, the walls will close in faster. This process will be repeated 5 times until the floor ends. Each time the player survives the walls, they will be awarded some coins; the amount they earn depends on how long they survive. Touching the walls will deal 75 damage with a long cooldown.

The time until the walls crash in are as follows:

  • 1st = 16 seconds
  • 2nd = 13 seconds
  • 3rd = 10 seconds
  • 4th = 7 seconds
  • 5th = 5 seconds

When the floor ends, all players will be teleported back to the as the elevator as the timer resets to 4 seconds, the chalkboard disappears and all the DAs will pile in-front of the elevator and get crushed by the walls when the timer hits 0. Shortly after the walls retreat, the DAs will pop back to normal as if nothing ever happened.

Tips[]

  • Keeping track of the DAs is important as they can be easy to lose because of their high speeds.
  • Players will only take damage from the walls, they will not instantly kill them.
  • Having Token of Hermes or Gift of The Eradicated can help with getting to the safe zones on later parts of the floor.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first floor to be released in a WIP state.
    • The floor was released in 10/05/2025 and updated in 10/11/2025.
    • The floor used to be a special floor, along with a pink WIP icon beside it. Its thumbnail also used to be a white text titled "WIP".
    • The elevator used to be in the start of a hallway rather than being in the middle of the hallway.
    • The chalkboard used to have the text saying "Don't trust these walls" while the whiteboard retained its original text, "They hurt".
    • Unlike the current version, there aren't a lot of drawers scattered along the broken school desks. Previously, there was only one drawer present, which stood beside the whiteboard.
  • This floor is a reference to Baldi's Basics, an indie horror game from March 31, 2018 with a similar environment.
  • The floor's mechanic may have been inspired by a sticker called "The Smasher" by TurntipR.
  • The DAs on this floor can also be found in Curse Cove, where they are kept in a room to the right of Barb.
